Cover Your Tracks

Web Safety

A lot of information is stored on your computer including what websites you have visited, any emails or instant messages sent, online purchases and online phone calls.

If you are worried that someone might check what you have been doing or looking at on your computer then do not use it to get help or advice. Instead you should go to an internet café, visit your local library or a trusted friend. Keep using your computer for any other things that you would normally do.

Clearing Your Web Browser History

You can clear some evidence of the sites that you have visited and any searches you have done by clearing your web browser’s history. This won’t remove all records from your computers memory and someone could find the remaining records without too much of a problem.

Remember – If clearing your browser history isn’t something you would normally do then don’t – this may arouse suspicion.
